Wisconsin Experiencing High Fire Danger Statewide

Please Avoid Burning Until Conditions Improve

 

Effective immediately there is a ban on all open burning in the Town of Troy until the dry conditions and wind speeds will allow for safe burning.  This ban applies to all open burning of brush piles, wild lands and grasses.  This does not apply to burning contained to fire rings or camp fires,   Please take care when burning, keep a continuous monitor on all fires and make sure fires are completely out at the end of the day.

 

FIRE SAFETY TIPS

  • Avoid outdoor burning until conditions improve. 
  • Operate equipment (chainsaws, off-road vehicles, lawnmowers, etc.) early in the morning or late in the day to avoid sparks at peak burn hours.
  • Secure dragging trailer chains.
  • Report fires early by calling 911.
