Kevin R. Mikes, 46, of Troy Center area, went home peacefully after battling a 15 month fight of Glioblastoma on Friday, August 20, 2021 surrounded by family and friends.

He was born and raised in Troy Center, Wisconsin. He resided in the Town of Troy and was a lifelong resident.

He was a line mechanic at WE Energies for 20 years. Prior to that he worked for Hooper and Pieper as a URD Contractor. His passion was being a firefighter which he served on Troy Center Fire Department for 25 years in several capacities. He also was a member of the Lions Club in East Troy which he was a former president but also served in numerous roles. Kevin received awards including Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, Birch/Sturm Award, and also Outstanding Presidents Award. He was also inducted into the lifelong member award of the East Troy Lions Club. His passion for spending time on the lake on his boat with his family was very important to him. Also enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing with his son Ryan. Attending Tarra and Ryan’s sporting events made him a proud dad. His pride and joy was his ‘61 Ford Starliner that he restored from frame up.

He married his high school sweetheart Kimberly and they were married 23 years. They were blessed with two wonderful children Tarra and Ryan.

Kevin was survived by his wife, Kimberly (Glodowski) and his children Tarra and Ryan. His dad Hugo, siblings Kelly McGown (James), Huey, Carrie, and Lindsay. Mother-in-law Sharon Glodowski. Brother-in-law Mike Glodowski(Kelly). Lots of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his stepmother Linda Branfort, father-in-law Conrad Glodowski, and grandparents.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 11am-2pm until time of service at 2pm at Schmidt & Bartelt, Inc., 930 Main Street, Mukwonago, WI.
