PART TIME PUBLIC WORKS POSITION
TOWN OF TROY
The Town of Troy, Walworth County, population 2,355 residents, is seeking a qualified individual to fill
the position of Patrolperson/Mechanic in the Public Works Department. The desired qualifications
include having a valid Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s License (or the ability to obtain within one month
of hire), a high school diploma or GED and three years of relevant and applicable experience. The
successful individual must be willing to be on-call after work hours, including nights, holidays and/or
weekends as required to provide public safety and service to the Township. Candidate will be required
to work a minimum of four hours a day Monday-Friday. Days and hours will vary during snow plow
season.
Key responsibilities include maintaining Town roads, culverts, parks, buildings and grounds, vehicles and
equipment, plowing and salting roads, and brush disposal. Additional duties may be assigned at the sole
discretion of the DPW Supervisor. Starting hourly wage will depend on qualifications and experience. If
WRS requirements are met after the first year, candidate will participate in the Wisconsin Retirement
System.
This position is subject to a pre-employment drug test and random testing in compliance with the Town
of Troy Substance Abuse Policy and the Federal Department of Transportation and Highway
Administration’s drug and alcohol testing regulations contained in Title 49 CFR.
