Property tax bills will be sent out in December and now is the time to make sure your information on the bill is correct, especially if you have had an address change.  Go to co.walworth.wi.us, and click on Property Taxes.  Here you will search for your property record.  Change the Municipality to Town of Troy, then add in other search data.  It is best to keep this simple, such as only entering your Last Name, or Street Number.  Click on your property and your real estate record will load up.  On this page you can double check the mailing address for your bill, and if needs updating, click on Request Mailing Address Change to submit a request to the County Treasurer.   If the property you are viewing is your primary residence as of January 1st, make sure you are also receiving a Lottery Tax Credit.  If not, you will need to submit the Lottery Credit Application to the County Treasurer.  You can also see the tax bill that is mailed to you – this is helpful should you misplace the bill mailed to you.  You can also go to this page to check if your payment was received.

This will take you to a page to sign up to receive email and/or text notifications.  This is a great feature if you pay your bill in two installments – you can sign up to receive a reminder regarding paying the second installment, which is due July 31st.  Last year several residents in the Town mailed their payment and it was lost or delayed; use this service to make sure your payment is received on time.
